Presentation topics


Dear All, here are the topics for the presentations you have to make next week. 
You can choose one topic and prepare your presentation individually or with a partner. 
You can choose the format of your presentation. The possible formats are described below. 
You will have to make your presentation on 27.04.13

Presentation Topics
1.       Topic ‘Gender issues and Jobs’. Make a presentation on the topic ‘Job Appropriacy for Males and Females’. For example, what jobs are suitable for both genders, have there been any shifts in male-female roles and responsibilities, are there more females doing males’ jobs, etc. Alternatively you can make a presentation on the topic of ‘Most highly and lowest paid jobs in Georgia’ .  This can be done in three ways: A report supported by visuals (posters, photos, etc.), a Power Point Presentation with interactive slides and material, or a Video project in which you either design an interview or video-edit slides/pictures/videos. The video should not be more than 2-3 minutes, whereas 5 minutes should be allocated for a report or a Power Point presentation.

2.       Topic ‘Studying Abroad’. Make a presentation on the topic of studying abroad. You should cover the following areas: expectations of the university life, quality of education, accommodation, roommate, etc. This is a hypothetical task and you should use appropriate grammatical structures in your presentations.   This can be done in three ways: A report supported by visuals (posters, photos, etc.), a Power Point Presentation with interactive slides and material, or a Video project in which you either design an interview or video-edit slides/pictures/videos. The video should not be more than 2-3 minutes, whereas 5 minutes should be allocated for a report or a Power Point presentation.

3.       Topic ‘Shopping’. Make a presentation in which you compare various places for shopping in Tbilisi (supermarkets, shops, bazaars). You should focus on people’s preferences, as well as comparison of prices in various shops of Tbilisi. You can focus on both clothing and food. .  This can be done in three ways: A report supported by visuals (posters, photos, etc.), a Power Point Presentation with interactive slides and material, or a Video project in which you either design an interview or video-edit slides/pictures/videos. The video should not be more than 2-3 minutes, whereas 5 minutes should be allocated for a report or a Power Point presentation.

Topic 'Houses' Make a presentation in which you act a s a real estate agent.  Present the house/flat you are  trying to sell/rent out at the moment. You should focus on the description of the house/flat (interior and exterior), the location and neighbourhood, price and conditions of sale/rent. This can be done in three ways: A report supported by visuals (posters, photos, etc.), a Power Point Presentation with interactive slides and material, or a Video project in which you either design an interview or video-edit slides/pictures/videos. The video should not be more than 2-3 minutes, whereas 5 minutes should be allocated for a report or a Power Point presentation.

- say that I can’t do the exercise;
(If you don’t know how to do an exercise, ask your group mates for help. Come back to the exercises later and try to do it again)
